Harmful Ingredients Exclusion List
Creating products that are not only good for the environment but good for my customers, friends, and family has always been incredibly important to me.
I personally am super scent-sensitive, and a lot of the reason I decided to make my own body and self-care products is because I love scents, but many of the commercially-available ones gave me headaches, made me sick, or irritated my eczema. Many of my closest people also have skin- and scent-sensitivities that give them migraines, rashes, and other not-fun reactions - so I have deliberately selected the gentlest, most chemical-free synthetic fragrance oils* (FOs) I can find to make my products.
Additionally, I only test my products on myself, my friends, and my family; there is never any animal testing at any phase of my production (including in the making of the materials I purchase).
If you'd like to get technical with it, I've included a list of ingredients often found in fragrances that the FOs I use will never contain, directly from my supplier. Because they exclude so many nasties, not every ingredient is listed, but this should give you a good idea.
Phthalates, including but not limited to BBP, DEHP, DBP, and DEP
Phthalates are esters of Phthalic acid and are used to dissolve raw materials when making fragrance oils. They have been used for decades in a myriad of pharmaceuticals, household, and industrial products.

* Fragrance oils are predominantly comprised of synthetic chemicals. This makes them more stable, long-lasting, and consistent, and also means if you have a plant allergy, they shouldn't affect you.
